I enjoyed a hot cup of Joe on an overcast day after skipping through town for a class. The staff was quick and courteous. It was about 1030 in the morning on a weekday. The crowd was large and not as loud as you would expect for the volume of people. If I do get to return to the area, I will definitely stop by to enjoy a visit at Corner Perk Cafe.
First time on their new location. The coffee was amazing. It reminded me of Philz coffee from the Silicon Valley. Very bold but not too strong. Atmosphere was excellent and plenty of sitting available. Highly recommend.
Extremely over rated and way over priced. Order @ at counter, given #'d sign and still had to go to counter and had to ask for my drink. Servers run around w/dazed look on face trying to find you and obviously give up and leave your plate until you go looking for it. What was even more amazing was the price for the quality of food. Don't go too hungry because you can make your own at home w/little effort. Their French toast was just plain white bread and cinnamon. Don't even serve w/ butter so you have to go back to counter line once you realize that your 12 dollars didn't include a slab of butter. Do your self a favor and just drive the 20 minutes and go the Waffle House. Atleast you don't have half the expectations and you nearly pay even half the price!!!
Corner Perk used to be one of my favorite places to visit when in Hilton Head on vacation, but my visit yesterday will be my last. So many things had changed that I hardly recognized the place. With no more table service, you line up at the counter to order. I ordered the quiche of the day which was bacon and tomato with cheddar cheese, or so I was told. My sister and I both ordered light roast regular coffee. The bill was $14.00 plus change. We finally got a wobbly, dirty table on the porch, and the busboy acted annoyed that we wanted to sit there. There were a couple of other tables, but since it was raining, one of us would have to have been drizzled on. We also tried to sit on a sofa on the porch, but not only were the cushions wet, they were also very dirty. When the food arrived, my quiche was burned on top and was not bacon and tomato, but a spinach quiche. The server brought the wrong coffee order, was annoyed when we told her so, and went back in. The second time she brought two "pour over'" coffees which are somewhat more expensive than the regular we had ordered. Rather than light roast, the coffee was so strong and bitter, we neither one could drink it. If you want good food, good service, a clean environment, and delicious coffee, skip Corner Perk!
Service is a real drawback. Felt like I was at Panera. Food was good.
